Jamestown Container Deemed “ESSENTIAL” by Governors of NY, OH, and PA
March 25, 2020: All Jamestown Container Locations are Open and Operating
Jamestown Container continues to operate all of our locations to ensure continued support of the supply chain requirements for all of our customers across NY, OH and PA, especially those customers producing much needed supplies used in the fight against COVID-19.
The safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities where we live is our most important concern. We will continue to operate our locations under the guidelines and recommendations from federal, state, and local authorities, as well as from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
We’ve enhanced our existing protocols to help protect our employees, including reducing the number of employees onsite at any time, shifting many of our key management and office personnel to work remotely, and implementing new procedures for our transportation and logistics personnel – all while ensuring the continued flow of packaging to our valued customers. We remind all employees to practice “social distancing” at all times, especially while onsite and while operating our machines. We’ve also implemented travel restrictions across our Company, and instituted a limited or no-contact policy for shipping, receiving, and delivery personnel. As a result, we strongly recommend that our customers inspect any deliveries upon arrival and make note of any damage or exceptions.
Jamestown Container’s suppliers and vendors have similar infectious disease protocols in place. The majority of the raw materials that are used in the materials supplied to Jamestown Container are sourced within the United States or from Canada. Currently, components or products sourced outside the United States have an adequate inventory, and we expect little to no effect on our ability to support your packaging requirements.
Right now, we have manufacturing capacity available. Some of our customers have decided to place advance orders to ensure adequate inventory of finished packaging in the coming weeks. If / when that approach applies to your location(s), please contact your Account Manager or Customer Service Representative with any packaging needs, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your additional demand.
We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation. If needed, Jamestown Container has an established Business Continuity Plan that includes shifting manufacturing to other Jamestown Container locations and partnering with qualified box manufacturers and other key suppliers throughout the United States and Canada.
We remain committed to providing a safe, healthy working environment for our employees, and with their help, we will continue to provide the high quality products and services that our customers expect – and need – from us.
